This weekend I went indoor rock climbing with a friend of mine from university. We had to drive about an hour, but it was definitely worth it! I think he has been climbing before, but this was my first endeavor. Did we start off with something easy and slow? No way! We went bouldering. For the uninitiated, this means climbing without the use of ropes or harnesses. The only equipment you need is a bag of chalk and climbing shoes. It turned out that neither of us were very good at bouldering, but we had an awful lot of fun trying. The cave was my favorite part, though my friend preferred the crazy overhanging walls. After about thirty minutes, neither of us could hold on anymore and much to our chagrin, we had to call it quits. I thought I was in better shape than that, but bouldering is pretty intense. Neither of us could walk properly the next day! I think we’ll have to start climbing more often.

October 14th, 2010Working at a Cab Company
October 11th, 2010Who ever thought that working for a cab company would be so cool and enjoyable at the same time. I worked as a call taker. So every minute I would have the phone ring and I would take down locations and names accordingly. But I also had access to a computer with internet and a television on the side. The manager was hardly at work to supervise us, so we were able to access the computers and enjoy in our favorite past times in addition to working and taking calls in a courteous manner. I really enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately I had to leave because I moved from one city to another.

Taboo!
October 7th, 2010Taboo is a great game to play and I was just playing it the other day. It’s really fun when you are playing with a group of friends. You should have a maximum of 4 people on your team though because it’s not fun when you have to wait a long time for your turn. The optimal playing situation is 2 on 2. This is because you have more chances to play. It’s really just a great game and you can let loose and really just have fun and enjoy the small parts of life. That’s the way that I look at it and honestly, everyone needs to play every once and a while.
My Pooch Hummer and his near death experience
October 5th, 2010

My dog Hummer is a large Doberman. He is more than friendly, and often times scares people with his size, and his playfulness. One night I woke to a whimpering at my bedroom window, when I looked outside I saw my poor dog in agonizing pain, laid out on the grass. I called a vets home, woke him, and begged for him to see my dog. It seems that my dog, my poor Hummer had been poisoned. I guess some of my neighbors were either trying to poison critters in their yards, or someone had intentionally poisoned my dog. The vet said it was a waiting game. I would have to wait it out, and see if Hummers body would allow him to live. He explained that if Hummer did survive, he would be in a great deal of pain for a long time, maybe even a month. The next morning, I woke to find my Pooch lying in my bed with me. I decided that since it seemed he was going to make it to get him a comfortable bed for him to recover in. That day I purchased him a discount memory foam dog bed, the Pooch has not come back to my bed since. Lucky dog, I bet his bed is way better than my own.
