Stylin’ in a Sentra

March 18th, 2010

I drive an early nineties model Nissan Sentra. It’s a little car with attitude, and I think it suits me. It’s a five-speed, and I’ve always had a fondness for a manual transmission. Not only is it more fun to drive, but typically it gets better gas mileage. My car for instance, averages 35-40 miles to every gallon of gas. With gas prices as high as they are these days, that’s a major bonus. The only problem I have with the vehicle is the lack of space. It’s a two door, so it becomes very difficult anytime I want more than one other person in the car with me. But I don’t typically do a whole lot of chauffeuring, so it’s a problem I can deal with.

Music for the Moment

March 14th, 2010

My taste in music is fairly eclectic. The activities I’m participating in at the time have an impact on what I choose to listen to. For instance, when I’m driving I like to listen to upbeat, energetic music with lyrics that I can sing along with. Most of the time, I turn to a pop or rock station. When I’m sitting around the house and I want to relax, Bob Marley is a stand-by of mine. His tunes are catchy and his lyrics are often meaningful. His music urges people to live in the moment, enjoy what they have, and not worry so much about what’s coming. I believe those are all admirable tenets to live by.

Anti-Fleas Dog Collars

March 13th, 2010

I thought Anti-Flea dog collars and leashes were not useful, I never spent much money with my dog, but I was wrong. I have a friend who bought a beautiful dog collar to his pet, coincidently, his pet wasn’t attacked by the fleas during a trip me and my friend did with our dogs. After the trip I discovered that Anti-Fleas dog collars were the responsible for protecting his dog. They’re not one hundred percent useful, but every dog owner should buy one for precaution and, so, avoid many prejudices to your dog’s health and for your pocket, just remembering to change it three months later.

Singlewide Living

March 12th, 2010

My husband and I live in a little singlewide mobile home surrounded by trees and fields on all sides. It’s an older model, but it’s still standing strong. I like having a smaller space than a large house. There’s just enough room for the two of us, and it cuts down on cleaning chores, which I’m sure no one is a big fan of. One major disadvantage is the age of the place. These old mobile homes aren’t very energy efficient, so I open my power bill with trepidation every month. But all in all, it’s a good little place to be, and it suits us just fine.
