Well, I had a kind of so-so day today. I was up most of last night, as so often happens these days, so naturally I slept through a good part of the day. Let me interrupt myself here and say that the food I ate today made the day a little more interesting than it would have been otherwise. For lunch, I ate salami on an apple-cinnamon muffin. It does sound weird, and I knew I was taking a chance, but it was actually pretty good probably because I like the combination of salt and sweet. Dinner was pasta and pesto. Delicious… I got some freelance work done. Now, once again, it’s late, and I’m still up.

The Day I Had Today

When our family gets together we like to play the card game “cribbage.” We play tournaments where two people play, then the winner of that game plays the next person, and so on, until all who are there that day have played at least one game. And the last person to win is the overall winner. If there are only four of us, then we can play partners. Cribbage is a really challenging game, but not too difficult so even some of the younger family members can be involved. This is a game that does not take much equipment making it an inexpensive pastime.
Housewarming Party and “Meeting the Parents”
November 19th, 2009Friday night, I met my boyfriend’s parents. We’ve been dating for a few months, and it was time to meet his parents. They live close by, so it wasn’t too big of a deal. The four of us went out to a local barbecue restaurant for dinner. His father is a rather quiet Armenian man (thankfully, he warned me that his dad was quiet!) and his mother is a very gregarious Polish woman. On Saturday, we went to a coworker’s housewarming party. They had just purchased a new home, and gotten quite a good deal since it was a short sale. I’ve heard a lot this summer about how they’ve been fixing up odds and ends around the house, so it was nice to see the finished product.
Halloween Puppy
November 18th, 2009My seven month old puppy Zooey had her first Halloween last week. I decided to bring her along to a Halloween party at school, in costume of course. Many dogs do not like to wear dog clothes, but I thought I would at least try to make Zooey wear the ladybug costume that I had picked out for her to wear. Surprisingly, she did not really mind having on the costume. The antennas would not stay on her head, but the body part stayed on the whole evening, even while she was playing with some other puppies. She looked very cute, and everyone thought she was a friendly and well behaved puppy. Zooey and I had a great time in our costumes.
